HOLLYWOOD CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2017/2/2 – “I had many hours of weapons training and fight prep with our stunt choreographer. I also did ride-alongs with LAPD,” says Training Day star Justin Cornwell. “For this character, I believe I have maybe the most similar perspective than other characters I’ve played. But, there are always similarities and difference when you break down each character.”
Cornwell was previously in Empire and Chicago PD.
“How is this role different from roles in Empire and Chicago PD?,” says Cornwall. “The size for one! Those roles I had one or two scenes.”
On working with different directors… “Each person has their own method,” says Cornwall. “It takes patience to adapt to the pace of each person. To me, that is the beautiful thing, being able to discover different processes. For this character, I believe I have maybe the most similar perspective than other characters I’ve played. But, there are always similarities and difference when you break down each character.”
What has Cornwall learned from Bill Paxton? “How to grind. Day in and day out, TV hours for leads are quite grueling. On days when the subject matter is heavy, or the script isn’t springing to life through you…to still you self and tether yourself to the ground. He has a career longer than my life. It’s such a great person to guide me early in my career.”
After a hard day of shooting Cornwall likes to hang with friends or make music. You can check out some of his music at Soundcloud Justin-michael-cornwell.
