HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2017/5/25 – “If you beat the app you get into win like, a couple of million dollars” says Beat Shazam host Jamie Foxx. “There’s always a whole different thing that goes on with it, but it’s just a whole lot of fun.”
“Beat Shazam is a musical show,” says Foxx. “It’s about the hottest songs of any era, and the app Shazam, you have to beat it.The Shazam App guesses a song in a certain amount of time… Can you beat the app?”
Three teams of two people each have to go against the clock and each other as they try to guess some of the biggest hits from all time. In the end, the team with the most amount of money banked will go against Shazam, the world’s most popular song identification app, for the chance to win a huge cash prize.
During each episode of the series, Foxx will present a choice of two music categories in each round, that will range from 80s favorites to Beyoncé hits. Teams hear a song and have to identify it correctly first. As the rounds goes, quicker teams continue to build their banks. The player with the lowest amount of money will be eliminated, until only one team remains. That team will play man-versus-machine attempting to beat Shazam.
Shazam has been downloaded more than 1 billion times. It has processed over 30 billion total Shazams since launch. Shazam is used more than 20 million times each day.
Beat Shazam was created by Jeff Apploff and is produced by Apploff Entertainment and MGM Television in association with Shazam. Mark Burnett, Jeff Apploff, Rich Riley, Lauren Zalaznick and Jamie Foxx are executive producers.
