HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2017/3/15 – “For the survivalist, I think the greatest challenge is to keep their partner in the game,” says Kicking and Screaming host Hannah Simone. “We have ten survivalists and ten novices. And the survivalists are incredible hardcore. Then they have to do the challenges, so it’s a game about relationships, it’s a game about the jungle.”
Kicking and Screaming is an 8-episode competition series that teams ten expert survivalists with clueless couch potato contestants to face tough outdoor challenges. Contestants, who have never even camped in their own backyards, are tasked to survive in the wild, in the middle of the jungles of Fiji. Together these duos face wild animals, raging rivers, hunger and extreme weather. In order to win the $500,000 cash prize, the survivalists have to drag their clueless partners, Kicking and Screaming, to the finish.
Among the contestants are a former beauty pageant winner, a model, and a professional gamer. Paired with survivalist guides, the unlikely duos are forced to set aside differences to face an unforgiving jungle, triggering transformations not only in the novices, but also in the survivalists
Hannah Simone is the host of Kicking and Screaming. For her role as Cece on New Girl, Hannah Simone won the Teen Choice 2012 Award for Choice TV Breakout Star: Female. She recently wrapped production on Taran Killam’s film, Why We’re Killing Gunther starring Killam, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Bobby Moynihan. She executive-produced and co-starred in the feature film Miss India America, released earlier this year. The film won the Comcast Narrative Award at the Center for Asian American Media Festival.
Simone filmed a role in the independent feature Folk Hero & Funny Guy, opposite Alex Karpovsky and Melanie Lynskey, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Her other film credits include Flock of Dudes, starring opposite Chris D’Elia and Skylar Astin; and Spike Lee’s Oldboy, opposite Josh Brolin and Samuel L. Jackson.
