HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2016/11/22 – “My Character Emily Morgan, is a reporter in a small town with big dreams, but she’s had a failure to launch in her career,” say Broadcasting Christmas star Melissa Joan Hart. “Charlie is Emily’s ex-boyfriend they used to work at the same news station and then he goes on to work in the big leagues in New York.”
“She broke it off because she didn’t want to be second fiddle to him,” says Hart. “She wanted to have her own career.
“Emily is trying to stay focused on the job but can’t help falling for Charlie’s charm,” says Hart. “People always sort of wonder did I let the right one go and in this case you did let the right one go you should probably try to get him back.”
“Charlie Fisher is a news anchor,” says Broadcasting Christmas star Dean Cain “One of his biggest regrets in his life ever is the way he sort of by passed Emily Morgan his one true love.”
“What happens now is they come together fighting again for the same job,” says Cain. “A new job co-hosting Rise and Shine. It’s basically Regis and Kelly or Kelly and Michael or what ever you want to call it maybe it will be Kelly and Dean.”
“I particularly love the scenes where Emily and Charlie are talking over each other but there’s these moments within that banter you see the connection between the characters,” says Cain.
In Broadcasting Christmas, Melissa Joan Hart is Emily Morgan, a smalltown TV reporter. Rise and Shine announces the search for their new cohost and she throws her hat in the ring.
Dean Cain is Charlie Fisher, a New York news reporter who would love the job on Rise and Shine. When charlie and Emily realize they’re going after the same job it brings up old feelings. The two dated many years ago and when Charlie got the job in New York their relationship ended. The competition for the job is fierce, but as they compete their feels for each other resurface. Will they give it up for love or will they win at both love and work?
