HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2014/11/1 – “Our audience not only seeks out Hallmark Channel for the network’s beloved and cherished holiday films, but also for our treasured, romantic movies,” says Crown Media Family Networks  programming EVP Michelle Vicary. “One Starry Christmas combines the elements of love, romance and holiday to bring the perfect uplifting movie the entire family can enjoy.”

This weekend starts Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas with 12 new movies in the countdown. One Starry Christmas is love, romance and holiday cheer. Canyon sings The Ballad of Wild Bill. That is haunting and memorable. It draws the story together.

Aspiring astronomy professor Holly (Sarah Carter) loves Christmas. She expects this will be her first Christmas with her boyfriend Adam (Paul Popowich). But he schedules a business trip in New York and leaves her alone in Chicago for the holidays.

Rather than be alone, Holly books a ticket on a bus to New York to surprised both her boyfriend and her parents. The bus ride starts smoothly and she falls asleep. Half way through the trip she awakens to find she’s got a new seat mate. Luke (Damon Runyan) is a rodeo cowboy traveling to see his brother Bull (George Canyon) and will perform in New Jersey with a traveling rodeo tour. Holly and Luke start talking and realize they have a lot in common. The two both have an affinity for the stars and love Christmas. The bus breaks down and Luke rents a car so they don’t miss Christmas.

Luke drives Holly to her parents in New York. Holly’s parents Betsy (Kathleen Laskey) and Ken (Neil Crone) like Luke and invite him and his brother to join them for Christmas. Adam arrives to see Holly. When he sees Luke he feels threatened by the strapping cowboy. Boys will be boys and the two start competing for Holly’s attention. Who will Holly pick?

One Starry Christmas was produced by Chesler/Perlmutter Productions. Lewis Chesler, David Perlmutter, Robert Vaughn and Dominique Telson are the executive producers. Marek Posival is the producer. John Bradshaw directed. Script by Rickie Castaneda.

Hallmark Channel, owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc., is a 24-hour basic cable network with a national audience of 86 million subscribers.
