HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2015/8/2 – “The chemistry between these two sizzles as they work together to solve the crime and keep our audience on the edge of their seats,” says Crown Media Family Network programming EVP Michelle Vicary. “We’re excited for our viewers to dig in to this delicious and suspense-filled original mystery movie pairing multi-talented Dylan Neal with beloved Brooke Burns.”

Even better than the first film, this is the second installment in the Gourmet Detective mystery movie series starring Neal as a gourmet chef-turned sleuth. His understanding of gourmet food helps him solve mysteries. Banacek was a favorite of mine and like that series, this sleuth solves mysteries with his head, not his fists. This film is appropriate for the whole family.

Henry Ross (Dylan Neal) San Francisco gourmet chef-turned-sleuth when he helped the police solve a food related crime is preparing for a cooking demonstration at a gourmet food conference in a luxury resort. He goes to see his friend Capitan Forsyth (Samantha Ferris) at the police station.  Captain Forsyth tells Detective Maggie Price (Brooke Burns) that she has to take some vacation time. Henry suggests Maggie join him at a conference he’s attending. Of course, there will be a dead body there and a case to investigate. If they can find the body again.

Familiar faces from other Hallmark Productions include Devon Weigel who plays Viola in When Calls the Heart and Crystal Lowe who plays Rita in Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Lowe  has been tweeting about her involvement.

Gourmet Detective: A Healthy Place To Die is executive produced by Neal and based on the series of books by Peter King.  A Muse Entertainment Enterprises Production. Joel Rice, Michael Prupas, Dylan Neal, Becky Southwell, Steve Valentine, and Scott Smith are the executive producers. Harvey Kahn is the producer. Scott Smith directs from a script by Dawn DeKeyser and Becky Southwell & Dylan Neal.
