In Concrete Evidence: A Fixer Upper Mystery, Jewel is Shannon Hughes, the owner of Hughes Restoration and an expert in Victorian home restoration in Lighthouse Cove. Through her work, she stumbles across clues hidden in old homes. This time she is interested in the murder of her friend’s sister that has gone unsolved for over 20 years. She finds a human skull in the basement of her current project. Her biggest clue is the victim’s hidden diary.

Colin Ferguson is Macintyre “Mac” Sullivan, Shannon’s new client, crime reporter and author. They follow the trail to her old high school to nail the culprit. Another diary is discovered. Close friends are suspected of foul play. The truth behind the overwhelming success and generous financial support of the high school’s football team and athletic program is revealed.
