They’ll be beamed right into your brain. You’ll be able to become whatever you want to be in whatever virtual world you want to be.”

In Year Million, narrrator Laurence Fishburne explores through storytelling what it will be like to be human one million years into the future.

Ray Kurzweil is a big thinker, inventor, author and futurist. He spends his live studying and imagining our future. He takes people inside a very real future that feels like science fiction.

Michio Kaku is a theoretical physicist, futurist, and popularizer of science. Along with other futurists, scientists, scholars and science fiction writers guide viewers through the latest advances in technology, ideas and innovations that likely will power the evolution of our species.

Peter Diamandis is a futurist in the series.

Brian Greene is a physicist involved in the making of Year Million.

Graphic novelist Brian Michael Bendis paints a version of humanity’s fate through the lens of a futuristic American family. The daughter will be an android.

With Matt Mira, the co-host of The Nerdist Podcast, the series takes us on an odyssey of unfathomable choices humans will face while questioning the kind of lives we’ll live. Who are the people we’ll become a million years from now?

This will probably affect our relationships to each other. This could give us tools or insight into communication with other civilizations that might exist beyond Earth.

  • Energy Beyond Earth

Overconsumption of energy and resources has lead us to a breaking point. Going off planet is an option. We will have to make it habitable for humans through processes like terraforming. This may lead to consequences for that ecosystem. It is possible there are alien civilizations that have reached this similar inflection point.

  • Beyond the Cosmos

Human drive to explore the unknown has led us to new shores, depths and planets. The number of mysteries remaining on home planet decreases. We’ll probably have to adapt ourselves biologically in order to explore farther distances in space. We may discover forms of life reminiscent of Earth or new forms of life entirely. It could be close to how we’ve imagined it in science fiction?
