Netflix Abstract, Architect Bjarke Ingels says, “The beautiful thing”

A docu-series inside the minds of the world’s greatest designers, from architecture to concerts, Abstract premieres February 10th, 2017 on Netflix

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2017/02/10 – “We designed these buildings for pioneers,” says Abstract: The Art of Design architect Bjarke Ingels. “We got permission to make the apartments 30 percent deeper and we make sure that every apartment has a double height space. For every three floors, there is only one central corridor, so we can get, like, great efficiencies. And the beautiful thing is that at this point we hadn’t built as much as a dog house.”


“You’re looking for a moment when you feel you’re as close to the soul,” says photographer Platon. “That’s what good design is.”

Abstract: The Art of Design is a Netflix original docu-series that takes you beyond blueprints and computers into the art and science of design, showcasing great designers from every discipline whose work shapes our world. It goes inside the minds of the world’s greatest designers.

In an eight-episode series, it explores creativity, focusing on the visionary designers who shape the world around us. It goes from architecture to illustration, cars to typography. From the shoes we wear to the concerts we attend, art and design are intertwined with our daily lives.
