In Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Ellie Kemper is Kimberly “Kimmy” Cougar Schmidt. She is an optimist. She is like a child. She attempts to regain the life that was taken from her because she was living in an apocaliptic cult. She navigates through the unfamiliar struggles of New York life. In this season she is going to college.
Tituss Burgess is Titus Andromedon, Kimmy’s gay roommate. He is an aspiring actor and singer. He cares for Kimmy. Protective and plagued by self-doubt, he’s faced years of rejection in the business.
Carol Kane is Lillian Kaushtupper, the landlady. A New Yorker with a criminal history. She fights against the possible gentrification of her neighborhood. She tries to help her tenants.
Jane Krakowski is Jacqueline White, a socialite. She hires Kimmy as a nanny. Kimmy helps her gain perspective on her marriage. She is secretly of Lakota Native American descent. She is passing for white. She reconnects with her family and her heritage.
Tina Fey is one of the creators and executive producers of the series.
