HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Daily Star) 2015/2/4 – “This is not the same industry that Carrie Underwood won…or even Kelly Clarkson,”says American Idol judge Keith Urban. “What I love about this show is certain people are ready before others. There are some who are good on stage. You never get away without paying your dues.”
American Idol is the longest running singing competition show returned on Jan 7th, 2015, with judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. The auditions took a total of three weeks in that took place in Nashville, New Orleans, Minnesota, Kansas City, New York and San Francisco.
All those receiving a golden ticket are part of Hollywood Week, where the contestants sing their hearts out. The week is grueling. They learn songs, stage routines, and tone working together while getting almost no sleep.
There are many changes this season. One is new mentor Scott Borchetta. He’s a music executive who’s worked closely with Taylor Swift. He wants to start grooming the performers much earlier in the process, so the winner will be better prepared for life as a professional singer.
“These shows have become a development opportunity,” says American Idol mentor Scott Borchetta. “All artists are under development. They don’t stop working, and digging deeper to turn you on and to turn them on.”
The contestants performed a concert at the House of Blues in Los Angeles for the judges to see how they do at a live venue. After that, the judges culled the group down to 24 contestants.

Idol is eliminating their one-hour results show. That didn’t show the contestants competing, and this is a competition show.
